COMBINATION CHEMOTHERAPY WITH 6-THIOGUANINE, ARA-C AND DOXORUBICIN IN PATIENT WITH ACUTE MYELOGENOUS LEUKEMIA

Abstract
|
|
|
Sixteen patients with AML were treated with induction c iemotherapy with 2-5 TAD or 3-7 TAD regimen comp( sed of 6-Thioguanine, Cytosine arabinoside and Doxoz ubicin, followed by 2 courses of consolidation with 2 5 TAD regimen only.
The results were as following;
1) (. 3mplete remission rate was 87.5%, median remission duration was 48 weeks and median survival was 103 weeks
2) N edian time to bone marrow recovery was 25.5 days ( nd median time to complete remission was 27 days. Infection was suspected in most cases and main causat ve organism were gram negative bacilli.
3) A! ild to moderate degree of toxicities including anore.~ ia, nausea, stomatitis, diarrhea and alopecia were demon Orated in most cases and hepatotoxicity was obsery A.
4) T sere were no significant differences in therapeu-tic results and drug toxicities between 2-5 TAD and 3-7 TAD regimen as remission induction.
